About
Pilates with Francesca has been a labour of love for the past 18 months. After commencing a mat Pilates instruction course in the summer of 2024, what initially began as a plan to start a side hustle became an opportunity to create a lifestyle brand built on the enthusiasm for and dedication to the discipline of Pilates.
While working full-time in my job as a Digital Editor at one of the country’s leading women's magazines, I was studying, practicing, and taking exams, plotting to bring my idea to fruition.
In October 2025, I qualified and received my certification to instruct mat Pilates to Intermediate level. It was the turning point at which I decided to take a leap of faith by waving goodbye to a stable job in London and prioritising the plans that had been sitting patiently in the corner.
I'm very excited to be officially launching PwF and I’m now accepting enquiries for classes from January 2026 onwards.
We’re starting small but dreaming big, and this is just the beginning.
Why Pilates?
Pilates is a form of low-impact exercise consisting of a repertoire of moves created by Joseph Pilates at the turn of the 20th century. One of the myriad reasons Pilates has boomed in recent years is because of how accessible it is. Many people, regardless of age and fitness level, can take part in a class and gain plenty from it.
The practice of Pilates is underlined by the six principles: breathing, concentration, centring, control, precision and flow. Every time you take part in a Pilates class, your instructor will be guiding you through each move with these fundamentals in mind.
Practicing and honing the craft of Pilates has enormous physical and mental benefits. By engaging the core muscles, ensuring correct form, and using the specific Pilates breathing technique, muscles will strengthen. Posture, flexibility and balance will also improve, and overall mobility will increase.
Remember: low-impact does not mean low-level results.
